      9 millionth unit of Opel Corsa rolled-out from Zaragoza plant

      Opel, a popular car brand of US based leading auto maker General Motors, achieved a new mile stone last week with rolling-out 9 millionth unit of its iconic car – Opel Corsa – in the global market. The car was rolled-out from the company’s Zaragoza based plant situated in Spain. After manufacturing at Zaragoza based plant, the company exports this car to a number of European countries including Italy, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Interestingly, the car will be exclusively offered to the customers in Germany only.

       

      Opel Corsa 9 million
       

      The 9 millionth unit of the car was a five - door hatchback version of the car carrying white and green stripes at the exterior. The finishing touch to car was given with the addition of the OPC line pack. It is powered by a 1.4 liter gas engine which is capable of delivering a peak power of 100 hp along with a considerably higher fuel economy.

      It has been almost three decades since the company is selling this car in the world markets under different brands and with different names. The car was first launched in the world market in the year 1982, and since then, it has been sold with various names including Vauxhall Nova, Holden Barina and Chevrolet Chevy. The Opel Corsa model was launched in Indian market in year 1996.
