BMW has announced that the eighth generation of the Rolls-Royce Phantom will debut globally at the end of this year. It has been billed as the most luxurious vehicle that money could ever buy. In fact, the Phantom has been the epitome of moving luxury since the moniker was revived in 2003.

This eighth generation Phantom will also be the second generation under the stewardship of BMW and will share much of its underpinnings with the 7 Series luxury sedan that was launched last year. As we have seen from official images as well as our exclusive spy shots, this new Phantom will sport an evolutionary design where it will retain the famous grille, face and incredibly lengthy side profile.

With a Rolls Royce, you can practically customise the car right down to the last swatch of paint under the spare tyre. This means that the company will offer an unlimited number of combinations in terms of interior trim. It seems quite likely that this eighth generation Rolls Royce will draw its motivation from a 6.6-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 563bhp/820Nm and the rear wheels being powered by an eight-speed AT.

There is no doubt that the new Phantom will arrive in India. We suspect that existing and potential buyers have already been contacted and they have already put down a deposit to own a new piece of luxury by the end of the year.
