      Speculations are rife and rumour mill is constantly generating news about the unveiling of Hyundai India's new Grand i10 sedan. Interestingly, the new prototype from the South Korean auto giant will be showcased at the mega event. Industry experts are of a view that auto fanatics will be largely assembling at the exhibition to take a glimpse of newly developed model. Amid all the anxiety, Hyundai is leaving no stone unturned and is all geared up to announce the launch of its entry level sedan.       As it is a ubiquitous fact that the new generation sedan is based on the Grand i10 platform, a multitude of features separate the duo. This sedan has an elongated wheelbase than its predecessor, which is utilised and transformed into a boot. The roofline will be slightly dipped and exteriors will bear minor tweaks in order to incorporate the boot. The car is believed to be elongated up to nearly 4 metres. An option of 1.2-litre kappa dual VTVT petrol and 1.1-litre U2 diesel engine will be available with the former variant supported by an option of 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions. Whereas, the diesel mill will be melded with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox and the option of automatic transmission won't be available. A power output of 82 bhp and peak torque of 114 Nm is expected from the Kappa mill and the diesel engine will be churning 70 bhp with maximum torque of 160 Nm. And to increase the anxiety, a 1.4-litre i20's engine might also be added later.

      Auto experts are highly anticipating that the new generation sedan will be better in terms of fuel efficiency. The redefined diesel engine bearing U2 technology was recently launched by Hyundai India in its Grand i10 model, which has performed effectively and, therefore, will continue the same operations in the sedan. An economy of around 24 kmpl is predicted from the sedan, which seems to be an impressive figure.
