      483 units of Porsche Cayenne model recalled in India

      Porsche, a Germany based popular luxury car maker, said on Monday that the global recall of Cayenne models will affect as many as 483 units of this car sold in the Indian market. It is to be mentioned here that Porsche has recalled as many as 1 lakh units of its Cayenne model in the global market to fix a fault with headlights of the vehicle.

      In a statement issued on Monday, the company said, "Number of cars affected in India are 483.” The statement adds that In-house quality investigations revealed that in rare cases an incorrectly locked head-light module can get detached. The company will be reworking on the faulty headlight locking system of the Cayenne model for the year 2011 and 2012.

      The exercise of reworking on headlights is free of cost from the company’s side and will take approximately 45 minutes to fix the problem at company workshops.

      The Porsche Cayenne is a five seater luxury crossover model that was first introduced in year 2002. Besides Cayenne, the India portfolio of Porsche includes vehicles like Panamera, Boxter, 911 and Cayman.
