Renault has unveiled a mid-life update of its Kadjar SUV for the European market at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. It’s the second generation for the SUV and most importantly hints at what updates the India-spec Captur will get in the next few years.

We were one of the first to give you pictures of this vehicle during its testing phase and well, here it is in the metal. Much like everything else on display at the motor show, this Kadjar too is sporting an evolutionary design. Some of the major highlights of this include the latest Renault chrome grille, MPV-SUV hybrid stance and the rather subtle rear end with the only major highlight here being the chrome inserts on the tail pipes. The interior is standard Renault fare but now with a massive touchscreen system and displays integrated into the climate control knobs.

This Kadjar debuts a new 1.3-litre petrol engine that can be had in a 140bhp or 160bhp state of tune. The engine is, of course, turbocharged and can be had with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed AT. The diesel is a 1.5-litre unit and is offered in the 84bhp or 110bhp state of tune. This engine too can be had with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed AT.

Now here is the thing, the Kadjar is to the European market what the Captur is to the Indian market so it’s more than likely that we won’t get the Kadjar. What this instead hints at is a set of updates that the Captur will get whenever Renault plans for an overhaul of the SUV.
