The MINI Cooper S 5-door facelift has been spotted testing in Germany. The mid-life update to the British hatchback is expected to be revealed later this year as the 2018 model year car.
Being a mid-life update, the changes will only be limited to cosmetic upgrades. The new Cooper S will have a new lighting signature on the headlamps, with new inner graphics for the rear lamp units. Apart from these two changes, the test mule remains identical to the current car on sale. Interestingly, the Cooper 5-door is wearing a lot of camouflage on the exterior compared to other Minis spotted recently.
A glimpse on the inside shows little modification around the dashboard. The infotainment system is expected to receive an update as well. The mechanicals will remain the same as the current Cooper S. However, the new powertrain would be slightly more efficient.
