Ford is updating the Transit Van and here we have the first images of it undergoing cold-climate tests in the Scandinavia. The Transit received an update way back in 2014 and is currently sold in European and American market.

It has two variants, Transit and Transit Connect, which are available as a panel van, XL and XLT passenger vans; the test mule spotted here is the Transit Connect with a cladded fascia. The test mule is covered only upfront indicating a minor facelift to lend a fresh air to the LCV. Currently available with halogen and projector headlamps, the facelift would welcome an LED insertion garnered with integrated day time running lights. The grille might be reworked a bit as well. The rear remains untouched with its vertical tail lights and barn-doors. On the inside, though, we expect the Transit to benefit from Ford’s new SYNC infotainment system with added safety systems. The engine option would be carried forward, but expect to see improved fuel efficiency.

The facelifted Transit is expected to be revealed later this year with sales commencing for the European market right after. The Ford Transit is Europe’s second most successful van after the Volkswagen T6.
