Ford has revealed a limited edition Mustang Bullitt at the Detroit Motor Show to commemorate 50 years of the original Bullitt.

2018 Detroit Auto Show Ford Mustang Bullitt revealed

The Bullitt Mustang pays homage to the original silver screen car with the same classic Dark Highland green body paint and chrome accents apart from the uber-cool five-spoke alloy wheels. The 5.0-litre V8 of the GT is tuned to produce “at least” 475bhp and 570Nm in the Bullitt edition. The top speed increases to 163mph (262kmph) over the standard car’s 155mph. The homage car is equipped with a manual transmission, and the gear shifter features a white cue ball shift knob as a nod to the original.

The upgrades also include an active valve exhaust system with the new Black NitroPlate exhaust tips. It lends the muscle car the signature V8 burble. The new Open Air Induction system along with the new intake manifold of the Shelby GT350 and an 87mm throttle body contributes to the bump in performance of the Bullitt. Ford has taken efforts to provide a special MagneRide semi-active suspension as well as Recaro black leather-trimmed seats with contrast green stitching to let you know that you are driving a special Mustang. There is a Bullitt logo on the steering wheel as well.
