Audi will unveil the second generation of its premium coupe, Audi A7, globally on Thursday, 19 October. Though we already kind of know how it looks, the unveiling will give us insights into the finer details of the interior and technology.

The Audi A7 will compete against the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe and the upcoming all-new Mercedes-Benz CLS in the premium coupe segment.

The new Audi A7 takes its design cues from the all-new Audi A8 but adds a meaner edge to the fascia. The hood sits lower and the dug-in eye-like LEDs give it the angry look. The bumper also gets the sportier cuts and creases. As you move on to the profile, the sloping sportback roof that defines the A7 continues its elegant presence but the rear will be all-new. We also expect the design of the boot to reflect the A8 style with the Led strip running across.

Being amongst the bigger Audis, the virtual cockpit, the TFT display for the instrument cluster, will be standard. So will be the three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, power seats and the 2-DIN display screen for the fob-controlled infotainment system.

Under the hood, you might get to choose between the 1.4-litre TFSI, the 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engines and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. Mated to the DSG automatic dual clutch gearboxes, the engine will power either the front wheels or all four through the Quattro all-wheel drive system.
