      2017 Mahindra Scorpio: Variants detailed

      The new Mahindra Scorpio has been launched in four variants – S3, S5, S7 and S11. Along with fresh cosmetic and features upgrades, the new Scorpio is now also available with a more powerful 2.2-litre mHawk engine that generates 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. The powerful version also gets a new six-speed manual transmission with Borg Warner turbo charger. Read below to find out key differences between every Scorpio variant.

      Scorpio S3

      The base S3 variant is powered by a 2.5-litre engine mated to five speed manual transmission to generate 75bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. The variant gets modest features like black grille inserts and bonnet scoop. The S3 variant gets power window switches on the centre console and is available in seven and nine seat layout options. In terms of safety, the base trim offers engine immobiliser, collapsible steering column and side intrusion beams. The Scorpio S3 2WD is priced at Rs 9,96,926 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

      Scorpio S5

      One level above is the S5 variant, which is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine that generates 120bhp of power and 280Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The variant gets black steel rims with wheel caps and body-coloured bumpers. The power window switches have been moved to the door trims and this variant is available in seven and nine seat layout options. In terms of safety, the S5 variant additionally offers follows-me-home headlamps, dual front airbags, ABS, panic brake indication, auto door lock when driving and seat belt reminder lamp. The front and second row seats gets the 12V power outlets. The Scorpio S5 is priced at Rs 11,61,575 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

      Scorpio S7

      The S7 variant of the Scorpio is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk engine in two power tunes - 120bhp/280Nm (five-speed manual) and 140bhp/320Nm (six-speed manual). In addition to all the features from the lower variants, the S7 trim additionally offers body coloured side cladding and ORVMs and door handles. This variant also gets ski rack, rear spoiler, silver skid plate and rear number plate applique, silver finished fender bezel and LED centre height mount stop lamp. The vehicle also gets chrome finished AC vents, arm rest on front seats and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The S7 variant is available in seven and eight seater layout options. The second to top variant also offers remote central locking, lead-me-to-vehicle headlamps, puddle lamps, black footsteps and swivel roof lamps. The safety equipment list further includes the anti-theft warning over the rest of features which is carried forth from the S5 variant. The Scorpio S7 120bhp is priced at Rs 12,69,122, while the 140bhp variant is available for Rs 12,99,122 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

      Scorpio S11

      The top spec Scorpio S11 is available only in 140bhp/320Nm producing 2.2-litre mHawk engine. The S11 trim is available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options. In addition to all the features from the S7 variant, the S11 additionally gets alloy wheels, chrome grille inserts, chrome rear number plate applique and automatic climate control. The top-spec version also offers audio and cruise control on steering wheel, faux leather upholstery, seven and eight seater layout and also offers ORVMs with turn indicators. This variant also gets extended power windows, anti-pinch and auto roll-up smart driver window. As for safety, the top spec variant additionally offers speed alert. The Scorpio S11 2WD trim is priced at Rs 14,78,905, while the 4WD version is priced at Rs 16,01,253 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
