One of the most awaited SUVs for this year, the Jeep Compasshas finally been unveiled today. Production for the same will begin in June 2017, with the launch scheduled in the following month. The Compass is Jeep’s first locally assembled model and hence we expect it to be competitively priced. So here below, we have the Jeep Compass explained in pictures -

The Indian facility of Jeep will be used to produce Compass for the right-hand-drive markets. It will be available in as many as 17 engine-gearbox and drivetrain configurations, wherein some of them will be manufactured in the country for the international markets. In terms of dimensions, the five-seat SUV measures 4,398mm in length long, 1,667mm height and 1,819mm wide.

With regard to design, the Jeep Compass gets LED elements in the headlamps as well as the tail-lamps. Production for the vehicle begins in June this year. The bold front bumper holds the round foglamps in black mesh grille which is surrounded by chrome element. The LED DRLs complement the overall aesthetics. It also gets the familiar seven-slot grille that givesit a masculine appeal.

The rear section looks sporty with raked glass and a flowing-down roofline. Though there are no current images for the right-hand-drive version, we believe that the interior will be similar to the one showcased in Geneva.

The Jeep Compass gets traditional squared-off wheel arches along with the large 17-inch alloys. The suspension system borrowed from the Renegade has been mildly altered and it is capable of automatically altering the dampers to handle rough road conditions.
