On numerous instances, test mules of the 2017 Ford EcoSport have been spotted in the international markets. This time around, reports indicate that the production ready version will be globally unveiled in North America on November 14. The event will also mark EcoSport’s debut in North American market. Earlier this year, Ford India introduced a powerful diesel engine in the Indian market and now the new facelift version is expected to be introduced here sometime by mid of next year.
The India-bound facelift will continue to offer the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine that generates 99bhp of power, while the petrol versions will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre Ti-VCT and the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The international market will however get a new 1.5-litre 'Dragon' three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which might come paired to an AWD system.
In terms of design, the new model is likely to sport redesigned headlamps and tail-lights, redesigned bumpers and a new hexagonal grille. The side profile is expected to remain the same except for new alloy wheel design. Inside, the compact SUV will get a revised upholstery, new centre console, new steering wheel and Sync infotainment system with a new colour display. More details about the facelift version will be known post its official debut.
