BMW has revealed the latest round of M Performance kits for the recently revealed 5 Series and it will be available once the car goes on sales in February next year.

The M Performance package includes a stainless steel sports exhaust system which will provide a sportier and striking sound to the car. The exhaust tips will have a chrome or carbon fibre finish, which can be had in either circular or trapezoidal shape, depending on the engine variant. The M sports brake system includes vented, lightweight four-piston aluminium brakes at front, and a single-piston floating calliper brakes at rear, both finished in red.

The aerodynamic body kit includes attachments for the front bumper, rear diffuser and rear spoiler finished in carbon fibre along with black side sill attachments. An alternative to carbon fibre are hand built components made of polyurethane (PUR). The exterior mirrors can be had in carbon fibre, with black radiator grille, side sill stickers with M Performance inscription and BMW M Performance accent strips.

Also included are 20-inch alloy wheels. Special machining process enhances the matte black with a visible aluminium surface. On the inside, there is a sports steering wheel covered in Alcantara, with contrasting stitches.

The M Performance and Sound Kit offered on both the petrol and diesel variant enhances the power and torque numbers of the car. The additional 34bhp increases the power to 360bhp and torque increases by 50Nm to 500Nm on the petrol engine. The diesel engine on the other hand gets a 27bhp hike in power and 30Nm of torque taking the output to 292bhp/650 Nm. BMW says this boost in performance will not affect the fuel consumption in any way.

These M Performance parts are genuine accessories and won’t void the warranty of the vehicle at all.  It will be offered through all the BMW dealerships and sales and service subsidiaries. The M Performance kit is expected to be provided as soon as the new 5 Series makes its debut in India.
