The new-generation Toyota Innova MPV’s rear design has been revealed in a fresh image ahead of its expected global debut on 23rd November at the 2015 Jakarta Auto Show. The rear end of the new model looks a lot better than the current one that features a large windscreen with wiper/washer and a spoiler and a low loading lip. The taillight design, too, is much evolved than the existing one.

Talking about the engine, the 2016 Innova will be available with two engine options - a 2.4-litre GD, four-cylinder diesel with VNT Intercooler and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel with Dual VVT-i. While the former develops146.9bhp of power and 360Nm (MT) and 342Nm (AT) of torque, the latter is good for 137bhp and 183.3Nm. Both the powertrains will be paired to a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.

The base variant will be equipped with a seven-inch entertainment system with voice commands and Bluetooth, dual-tone interior with silver accent, anti-theft system, rear parking sensors, rank-and-reach adjustable steering, dual front airbags, driver knee airbag, electronic brake-force distribution and antilock braking system. Features like smart entry with push button start, wood finish on panels, curtain airbags, hill-start assist control and vehicle stability control will be offered only on the top-end model. While the lower variants will be assembled with 16-inches alloy wheels, the top-end model will get 17-inch alloys along with LED projector headlamps. The MPV will be made available in both seven and eight-seat configuration options.
