The 2016 Pune Off-road Expedition concluded in the Sahyadris with an excellent participation of about 400 bikers and a few 4x4 jeeps. The participants rode and drove down from all over Maharashtra for the event held in the Western Ghats near Pune.
The 60km long route in the Western Ghats went through Panshet and Varasgaon involved twisty slush sections. There was participation from amateurs as well as some well-known motocross riders and off-roading junkies who took on the demanding 60km route. The route involved heavy rains, water crossings, knee-deep slush and slippery terrain before ending the ride with a late afternoon lunch. From commuters like the Bajaj CT100 to the cruisers like the Avenger, even naked performance motorcycles like the KTM Duke and the Mahindra Mojo entered the slush with slight modifications.
The third edition of the Pune Off-road Expedition was organised by 8Moto Events in association with Electron Performance and National Geographic.
