Porsche is preparing to launch the 2016 iteration of the 911 in India on June 29. From the huge line-up of cars, the carmaker will officially launch the 911 Carrera Cabriolet, 911 Carrera S, 911 Turbo and the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet in our country.
All the specifications and features are listed on Porsche India's website. The prices of these models will also be announced by the end of this month. Porsche has left out the Carrera 4, 4S and their cabriolet versions, the Targa 4 and 4S from the 911 line-up for the Indian market. All the other cars will be made available in our country via the CBU route.
The Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S come powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged, flat-six mill that churns out 533bhp and 572bhp of power respectively. On the other hand, the Carrera twins are powered by a similar flat-six twin-turbo engine that produces 370bhp in the Carrera Cabriolet and 420bhp in the Carrera S. On the transmission front, we can expect all the engines of the India-bound models to come mated to Porsche's PDK dual-clutch gearbox as standard.
The new range of 911s were revealed in December last year with cosmetic updates and a retuned engine. They were then displayed at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show and will now be finally introduced to the Indian market.
