The Make in India initiative began in Mumbai with much vigor and enthusiasm. The recently launched 2016 Jaguar XJ was showcased at the event. The new Jaguar XJ is available in three variants - Portfolio 2.0-litre petrol trim is priced at Rs 99.23 lakhs, Premium Luxury 3.0-litre diesel – INR 98.03 lakhs and Portfolio 3.0-litre diesel – INR 1.05 crores. As part of fresh upgrades, the vehicle comes with LED headlights featuring J-Blade signature’ LED daytime running lights, J-signature tail and position light graphic, and restyled bumpers. Inside, it comes with 12.3-inch display has been developed to display navigation in full-screen mode.
The 2016 Jaguar XJ is offered in petrol and diesel engine options in India. The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that generates about 234bhp of power and 340Nm of torque, while the diesel variant comes with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine that generates about 292bhp of power and 700Nm of torque. Mated to 8-speed automatic transmission, the petrol trim is capable of clocking a top speed of about 241km/h and does a 0-100km/h in just about 7.9 seconds. Whereas, the diesel trim is capable of attaining a top speed of about 250 km/h and does a 0-100 km/h in just about 6.2 seconds.
