Triumph India has not only unveiled but also launched its new range of Bonneville motorcycles. This new range includes the Street Twin, Thruxton R and the T120. While the entry-level 900cc Street Twin is priced at Rs 6.90 lakh, the 1200cc T120 costs Rs 8.70 lakh. Prices for the Thruxton R, meanwhile, are yet to be announced.
The entry-level Street Twin is quite crucial for Triumph as its being aimed at a wide spectrum of motorcyclists looking for a fun to ride cruiser that can be personalised with a load of customizable options.
The Street Twin uses Triumph’s new 899cc ‘high torque’ engine. This 8-valve, parallel twin engine makes 80Nm of torque at a rider friendly 3200rpm, giving the Street Twin healthy low down grunt. The rest of the new Bonneville range, meanwhile, uses Triumph’s bigger 1199cc unit. Speaking of which, the bigger T120 has been designed on a new liquid-cooled platform specifically developed for the modern classic line-up. Powering this motorcycle is a 1200cc, liquid-cooled ‘high torque’ engine which makes 105Nm of torque through a 6-speed gearbox.
Lastly, there’s the sportiest model of the lot – the Thruxton R which is being billed as a more exciting version of the regular Thruxton cafe racer. The motorcycle uses the same engine as the T120 but with a higher torque output of 112Nm.
All these motorcycles are now on sale and Triumph has officially announced that they will hit the showrooms starting March this year.
