Audi India has taken the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo as an opportunity to showcase an all-new generation of the A4. The A4, as we know, is one of Audi’s best-selling models and the arrival of every new generation is usually followed by heaps of expectations.
This new B9 generation, for instance, may not look very different compared to the existing A4 but it packs in a load of new features and is expected to drive a lot better as well.
The front-end appears to have gotten sharper and now gets a horizontally slatted grille and most importantly a new bumper. The side profile carries a strong shoulder line which seems to have been carried over from the outgoing generation car. The rear, meanwhile, has also been updated in the form of a larger bumper and revised tail lamps which are now full LEDs.
Globally, the new A4 is being offered with a range of 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. As for the Indian market, there will be one 4-cylinder petrol and a diesel engine as well as 6-cylinder diesel engine. The show car at the Expo was unveiled with the latter engine option.
The entry-level luxury car segment has moved up quite a few notches since the arrival of the old B8 generation A4. The new A4, then, will have its work cut out in outclassing the BMW 3 Series facelift and the Jaguar XE which incidentally was launched earlier today for Rs 39.09 lakh.
