2015 XC90 SUV claimed to offer highest power and lowest emissions, India launch likely next year

Ahead of its global online unveiling in August and official public exhibition at the 2014 Paris Motor Show scheduled to take place iin October, the 2015 Volvo XC90 SUV is grabbing all the attention due to it being claimed as the most powerful and cleanest SUV in the world by the Swedish auto maker. The new XC90 SUV will also be launched in India; Volvo is expected to bring in 2015 XC90 SUV in domestic market by 2015. Among the Volvo XC90 range, the high-end version will be housed with a 2.0 litre four-cylinder, turbocharged and supercharged Drive-E petrol hybrid engine. These two motors together produce a towering power of 400 Bhp and a top torque of 640 Nm.

Though other SUVs like Range Rover Sport generate higher power output than the new XC90 (500+ Bhp) but the Swedish auto maker claims that 400 Bhp XC90 not just offers high power but it also emits low Co2. The top-of-the-line trim in 2015 XC90 line-up, T8 has NEDC rated C02 emissions of just 60g/km which is way too low than Range Rover Sport that emits 298 g/km.

The rear wheels of the T8 variant receive power from an 80 Bhp electric motor, while the engine supplies power to the front wheels. The bottom-end of the power range is filled by the supercharger, turbocharger on the other hand triggers when airflow generates. There is an option to run the vehicle on all electric mode for 40 kms.

Diesel range of the SUV will be offered in two engine options, a 225 Bhp, twin-turbo diesel powertrain and a 190 Bhp turbo diesel mill. Petrol variants of the SUV will come armed with a 320 Bhp turbo and supercharged petrol engine, other than this a 254 Bhp turbocharged petrol motor will also be put on offing.
