Volkswagen, the German car manufacturer, is aiming to launch a series of new cars in the Indian car market. The first car to be launched in the market will be the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift. VW India has announced that the updated Jetta will go on sale in the country on February 17, 2015. First premiered at the 2014 New York Motor Show, the updated saloon has been shown to public on different platforms. The majority of the upgrades are given to the exteriors, while the changes to the interiors are very minimal.

The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta facelift gets new front fascia with all-new triple-slat chrome grille flanked by slightly modified headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. The restyled bumper gets wider air dam and new enclosures for fog lamps. The side profile of the saloon largely resembles the existing model; however, the vehicle gets a new set of alloy wheels.

At the rear, the updated model features new LED tail lamp cluster, chrome inserts and modified bumper. Inside the cabin, the sedan has new three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, new music system with piano black surrounds and upholstery for seats.

Mechanically, the new Volkswagen Jetta remains unchanged. While the petrol version gets the same 1.4-litre TSI unit, the oil burner is the 2.0-litre unit. It is expected to be priced slightly higher than the outgoing sedan. It will rival against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Renault Fluence.
