Ford Motor showcased Ranger pick-up truck during mid-2010 and has been on a sabbatical ever since. The next generation Ford Endeavour is bigger than the Ford Territory when it comes to size. However, it is expected that unlike the prototype spotted in Australia, the original model will come with a unique design of its own.

The spy shots doing rounds on the Internet are clicked by Jackson Emiris, outside of Melbourne. This test mule had the body shell of the Ranger till the front door and beyond that the body has been borrowed from the Territory. The SUV specialist of the American car maker, Todd Hoevener was assigned the responsibility to design the upcoming Endeavour in Australia. Hoevener has been crucial in the launch of the Ford Explorer that uses new materials and technologies for a class leading fuel efficiency. South African automotive market recently received a slightly facelifted version of the outgoing Endeavour to fill the gap until the 2015 variant is launched. It is expected the Hoevener will repeat the same fuel efficiency as well as manoeuvrability of Explorer in the new model. Further, the speculations are rife that the 2015 Endeavour is the next product in pipeline for Indian market after the launch of Ford EcoSport. Ford India has lined up eight new models to be launched in the country in the first half of this decade and the 2015 Endeavour is one of them.

The car which is codenamed as the U375 will be launched first in China along with some other Asian countries. It is expected to be built on the Ranger pickup's platform and will boast of a ladder frame construction. In China, the car will be powered by the 3.5 litre Puma diesel powertrain that can produce a maximum torque of 225 bhp and 420 Nm of peak torque.
