American automaker, Ford is planning to launch the iconic 2015 Mustang sports car in the Indian car market. The vehicle will be launched as a Halo product for the company. Last year, the company had revealed the right-hand-drive Mustang that will be launched in Asian and some European markets. The car is also expected to go on sale in Sri Lanka, while the India launch is expected by the end of this year.
The 2015 Ford Mustang is available with 3 engine options - a 2.3L 4-Cylinder EcoBoost, a V6 and a naturally aspirated V8. The EcoBoost engine is capable of developing 305bhp of top power and 406Nm of peak torque. It is speculated that the EcoBoost equipped Mustang could be launched in the Indian market. The 3.7L V6 powertrain is good for 300bhp of power and 365Nm of torque, while the 5.0L V8 engine develops 420bhp of power and 528Nm of torque. All three engines are coupled to a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
Ford India will launch four new cars this year including Figo Aspire compact sedan, new Figo, new generation Endeavour and the Mustang. While the Figo Aspire will go on sale in June, the new Figo is expected to be launched in the second half of this year. The new-generation Endeavour, which has recently been spotted testing on Indian roads, is likely to be launched by the year end.
