More details have emanated about the next generation Ford Endeavour due to launch in 2015. According to latest report, 2015 Endeavour will ditch the cliché three-slat grille design. Officials at Ford have also confirmed that in order to render an off-road semblance to next generation Endeavour, the company has equipped a hexagonal chrome grille in the front. The new grille features two horizontal slats instead of three slat grille affixed in the current generation Endeavour.
Ford previewed a near production version of Endeavour last year, post its public display the SUV has been spotted aplenty times being tested. Sources close to development have also revealed that the company has developed around 200 prototypes of 2015 Endeavour, that have covered an accrued distance of 1 million kms until now.
In India, the SUV will continue to be offered as a completely knocked down unit and will be assembled at the company’s manufacturing unit located in Chennai. However the CKD kits of new Endeavour will be sourced from Thailand.
The premium SUV will face stiff competition from other SUVs in its segment including Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva and Ssangyong Rexton. We expect that Ford will price Endeavour at Rs 20 lakh for the Indian market.
