BMW will launch the 2015 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe facelift today in India. For the international markets the new 6 Series Gran Coupe facelift is available in three body styles– Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe – while the Indian market will receive the 4-door version of the car – the Gran Coupe. Since the sedan will be brought via CBU route, we expect to be priced between Rs. 1.15 crore – Rs. 1.2 crore (ex-showroom).

Coming to the design, the new 6 Series facelift will receive minor exterior updates, and look similar to its predecessor. The car features standard LED multibeam lights, a new kidney grille, modified front and rear bumpers and new alloy wheel patterns. The new model will be available in four new colours – Mediterranean Blue, Melbourne Red, Glacier Silver and Cashmere Silver. With new dual-tone leather upholstery, a Head-up display (HUD) and improved material quality, the interior of the facelifted model will surely be more up-market than the existing one. Though, the design and equipment remain largely unchanged.

Powering the 2015 6-Series facelift is a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, in-line diesel engine that develops a maximum power of 313bhp at 4, 400rpm and a peak torque of 630Nm between 1, 500rpm – 2, 500rpm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that helps the car achieve a top speed of 250kmph. It accelerates 100kmph from standstill in 5.4 seconds. The xDrive all-wheel drive system further improves the acceleration of the car, despite its heavy body-build.

The 2015 BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe facelift will take on the likes of Audi A7 and the Mercedes-Benz CLS Class in India.
