      2014 set to be the Best Year for Maruti Suzuki Ever with 11.48 Lakh Units Sold

      The largest automobile manufacturer in India, Maruti Suzuki, is on the way to record its best year ever in the respect of cars sold. The year 2014 has been an immensely good year for the company as more than 11.48 lakhs cars were sold by the company. Before 2014, the best-selling year for the company had been 2010, when the company managed to sell approximately 10.6 lakh units in the year.

      R.C. Bhargava, the Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, said, "We are going to see our highest ever sales in a calendar year in 2014. We are going to touch around 11.48 lakh units during the year."

      The company has witnessed a growth in almost all segments. The share in the passenger car market for Maruti has risen up by 4.1 per cent in the April to November duration. Now the share has settled at 44.8 per cent. As far as the total sales are concerned, Maruti witnessed an overall hike of 13.1 per cent. The total sales during this period stood at 835912 as compared to 739247 units, which was the statistics for the previous year.

      R S Kalsi, the Executive Director of Maruti Suzuki India, was found for comments on the brand’s impressive growth at a time when the entire industry is not going through the best of times. He said, "All our models have shown growth during the year. In comparison to other companies we have been able to achieve growth by introducing new models. While rural markets continued to grow, urban markets have also returned to growth path after witnessing stagnation in the last couple of years.”

      During the last month, the top four best-selling cars belonged to Maruti Suzuki, thus showing its popularity. Alto remained at the top with the sale of 24000 units nearly, followed by Swift at 17900 units. Wagon R grabbed the third position with a sale of 13545 units. The Dzire compact sedan was comfortably placed at the fourth position with 12000 units sold approximately. The only other entrant in the top five list, was Hyundai Elite i20.
