      Mercedes-Benz, the German premium automotive maker, had unveiled its 2014 E-Class facelift at the Detroit, Geneva and Shanghai auto salons held earlier this year. The stunning luxury saloon managed to garner some rave reviews and is pegged to pose stiff competition against its direct rival- BMW 5 Series. The 2014 E-Class model certainly has the looks and style statement to take on 5 Series, and represents the face of German auto maker’s brand new design language.

      As per industry sources, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class range could enter the Indian luxury automobile space sometime around September this year. The premium saloon boasts of several top draw attributes and has the looks to challenge its competition with confidence. The 2014 E-Class L model was on display at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show, where the facelift version left the entire media gasping for breath with its futuristic curves and aesthetically designed interior cabin.

      Both front headlamps and tail lamps of E-Class facelift model have been given the LED treatment, while the front fascia is complemented by the sleek new bumper. The interiors of the luxury saloon speak a language of their own and certainly are its USP. The leather trimmed seats are highly comfortable and the new E-Class boasts of an improvement in legroom by 5.5 inches, as compared to the previous generation.

      Speaking of the top notch features installed in the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the luxury saloon comes fitted with new instrument cluster, centrally-mounted analog clock, reworked steering wheel and an improved COMAND system. There would be 3 engine options available in the E-Class facelift range in the Indian auto market, with power outputs in the range between 200 and 340 bhp.

      In terms of sales recorded during April 2013, Mercedes-Benz reclaimed its number two position in the domestic luxury car space, after Audi displaced BMW from the top spot. Upon its arrival on Indian turf this September, the 2014 E-Class facelift would take on the likes of BMW 5 Series and Audi A6 luxury saloons. The German auto maker is expected to introduce its new E-Class range with prices slightly above than the previous models.
