      2014 Jaguar XJ expected to steal the limelight in luxury segment

      The stunning luxury sedan 'XJ' from Jaguar's stable had captured a lot of attention during the February held Auto Expo event in Delhi. The bookings have already begun and the sedan shall make its owners proud in the month of June this year. Interested buyers can book the premium saloon by making an upfront token amount payment of Rs 5.0 lakhs.

      The luxury sedan Jaguar XJ shall be available in petrol as well as diesel variant. The petrol version shall be powered by 2.0 Liter, four cylinder turbocharged engine along with an EcoBoost unit borrowed from Ford. The powerful engine generates about 240 Ps of power at 5000 Rpm and 340 Nm of torque at 1750 Rpm. As per ARAI officials, the petrol version is capable of delivering fuel economy of about 9.4 kmpl. The diesel version is powered by 3.0 litre six cylinder power-train that generates about 275 PS of power at 4,000 Rpm along with a peak torque output of about 600 Nm at 2,000 Rpm. The powerful engine is capable of attaining a top seed of about 250 km/hr and clocks 100 km/hr from 0 in just about seconds. All this while the diesel version returns an impressive 12.9 kmpl as per ARAI certification. Both the engine variants are mated to eight speed automatic transmission that powers the rear wheels.

      The Jaguar will assemble XJ sedan at its manufacturing unit located in Pune which is also the production hub for the popular SUV Land Rover. Since the car is being locally assembled a decent amount of price cut can be expected. Styling has always been a league apart with the Jaguar line. The hierarchy has been passed on to the XJ sedan as well. The interior is rich and has an exotic appeal to it.
