In order to maintain its high standards, Jaguar Land Rover has decided to introduce the new luxury Jaguar XF sports sedan. On local soil, Jaguar cars have held a higher status in the luxury segment. This time around, it is luxury complemented with power for its takers.
The XF range for India shall be available in four engine options – 275 PS 3.0 diesel, top-line510PS XFR 5.0L,190PS 2.2 diesel and 240PS 2.0L petrol. The new 2.0 petrol is powered by a four-cylinder engine that generates 240PS of peak power and 340Nm of max torque.
The new 2.0 XF petrol uses eight-speed automatic transmission system. Based on reports, its is said that Jaguar XF clocks a 100 km/hr in just under 7.9 seconds. As per internal sources, its top speed is stated to 250 km/hr. The petrol variant has been claimed to be fuel efficient with an anticipated mileage of 10.8 kmpl.
Mr. Rohit Suri, Vice President of Jaguar Land Rover, India, was quoted as saying “The Jaguar XF 2.0L petrol engine is a definite head turner and an excellent sedan that combines elegant design, luxurious style and classy appeal. Jaguar XF has been our most popular premium sedan model in India and is well received and appreciated by our customers”. Standard features for Jaguar 2.0 petrol includes TV Tuner, full size spare wheels, rear view camera, sun-roof and navigation. From safety perspectives, the XF features Pedestrian contact sensing, and front and side airbags for driver and front passenger.
As per sources, the XF shall feature Jaguar Drive Control that comes with three different drive modes. On the outside there are auto-levelling xenon headlamps with day time running LEDs. The car's interior features a dual zone climate control, three spoke leather steering wheel, electrically adjustable steering column and two cup holder in the front and the back.
The Jaguar XF, has been positioned in straight line of competition with the other luxury cars in the category such as BMW, Mercedes Benz and Audi. It is also said that, this car is powerful in comparison with its competitor’s entry-level petrol variant.
