Ford sprang surprise by launching the 2014 Fiesta sedan in India in diesel variant only at a starting price of Rs 7.69 lakh (ex-showroom price). Ford diesel is available in three trim levels including Ambiente, Trend and Titanium. The rest of the two trims, Trend and Titanium are available for sale at Rs 8.55 lakh and Rs 9.29 lakh respectively. Powered with the robust 1.5 litre Duratorq diesel engine, Fiesta diesel is a frugal option for customers as the sedan is claimed to deliver an excellent mileage of 25.01 kmpl.
On the exterior front, the upgraded Fiesta sedan features a Ford’s marquee trapezoidal front grille, sweptback sleek laser cut wraparound head lamps, tail lamps have also been tweaked. Inside the cabin, ford has equipped screens, controls and buttons for the convenience of the driver and occupants. 2014 Fiesta sedan has been rolled out in two new color options- Golden Bronze and Smoke Grey.
Ford has bestowed AppLinkTM in the new Fiesta that enables control over smartphone applications to owners, Emergency Assistance is also offered through SYNC.
On the safety front, Ford has equipped new Fiesta sedan with an array of advanced features like Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) with Pull-Drift Compensation, brand-new rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights. Besides this other preeminent features including driver-side airbag, and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) are offered as standard on all variants. Emergency Assistance (EA) via SYNC® allows the occupant to connect with the emergency services following an accident, providing vehicle location and open line communication.
