Fiat India, the domestic arm of Italian auto maker, seems all set to introduce the reworked version of Linea sedan in the domestic auto market. Sources close to the development process have revealed that the launch will be scheduled before the 2013 end for the domestic enthusiasts. Introducing a new model in the festive season seems to be a cleaver move by the industry experts as a number of companies are coming up with their respective models in order to lure the price sensitive Indian buyers. Reportedly, the upcoming sedan from the Italian auto maker will feature few peripheral changes, which are anticipated to strike right chords with Indian audience.

One of the main changes expected to be featured in the upcoming Linea would be the rear number plate, which was earlier mounted on the bumper, will be now present on the boot lid. Reports have stated that there would be several changes in the new Linea like new grille at front, modified bumpers, reworked reflectors and an altered headlight. As confirmed by the sources, the tail light of the updated Linea would be same as the current generation model. Coming at the interiors of the new car, the next generation model of Linea is likely to get a new dashboard with brilliantly illuminated instrument panel. The centre console of New Linea is also expected to be redesigned, which will offer a warm welcome to its occupants. Interestingly, the air conditioner vents, audio system and the control dials will be now separated from each other.

On the technical grounds, the model will come equipped with the much appreciated 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine, which is doing a tremendous job in Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire. For the petrol version, an option of either 1.4-litre T-Jet or 1.4-litre fire engine will be offered by Fiat India. It must be noted that industry experts are also expecting a 1.6-litre Multijet diesel engine in the 20134 Linea. Reportedly, Fiat has not been performing well in the Indian auto market from quite some time and therefore is planning to re-establish its brand image. Being a part of expansion plans, the auto maker is looking ahead to maintain a wide network of dealerships and service outlets all across the country, in order to alter the brand’s perception in the Indian auto market. Auto analysts are expecting that the refreshed model of Linea will turn the tides in Fiat's favour. However, the auto maker has not announced the exact launch date of the car.
