Tata Motors, the country's largest automobile manufacturer, is believed to be working towards the revamped version of its Indigo eCS compact sedan for the domestic passenger car market. As per industry sources, the company would officially unveil the new Indigo model sometime later this month. Apart from the 2013 facelift version of Indigo eCS entry level sedan, Tata Motors has also lined up reworked models of its Nano entry level small car and Sumo Gold models for launch in the market.

Some spy shots of the 2013 Tata Indigo eCS have surfaced on the internet and it appears as if the company has done a great job in the image makeover process. The initial spy pictures have revealed that the new model would come with redesigned headlamps, heavy chrome job on the front grille, along with re-modelled bumpers and fenders. The new headlamps have blackened inserts that have entailed it with an aggressive and bold style statement. The 2013 Indigo eCS facelift has modish bumper and air dams, which can be termed similar to the ones installed on its elder sibling Manza mid-size sedan. The revamped version is expected to come with mostly cosmetic modifications in exterior design and interiors, while under-the-hood specifications would remain same.

The reworked Indigo eCS car is expected to come with a completely revised interior cabin setting so that it can confidently take on other entry level sedan rivals in the Indian auto market. At present, Tata Indigo eCS is pitched against Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze, Chevrolet Sail and Ford Classic models in the country. Despite being a well-round product with sturdy build, competitive pricing and ample interior space, Tata Indigo eCS is unable to ward off competition from the likes of Swift Dzire and Amaze. Experts believe that the company is looking at reforming the brand outlook of its entry level sedan among the domestic buyers.
