The Indian unit of the Japanese auto giant Mitsubishi is seems to have decided to give its India portfolio a complete makeover. After launching the new age sports utility vehicle (SUV) Pajero Sport, the company is now looking forward to launch new face-lifted version of its popular luxury SUV Outlander. It is expected that the new face-lifted Mitsubishi Outlander is expected to be launched in the Indian market by the first quarter of next year.
The new generation Outlander model was displayed at the recently held Geneva Motor Show, where it had received an overwhelming response from the visiting SUV enthusiasts. The new Outlander 2013 will be initially launched in the Russian market, following by its launch in Japan and India later on.
The new 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander will be rolled-out in a diesel version also, powered by a 2.2-litre DI-D diesel engine that delivers a peak power of 150 PS along with a peak torque of 380 Nm. An increase in fuel efficiency is expected due to addition of new Stop-and-Go system. The powerful engine of the car will come mated with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
The launch of new Outlander with further enable the SUV to compete more promptly in its highly competitive segment with the rivals like Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Renault Koleos.
