Ford UK has just delivered the first lot of 1,000 right-hand-drive Mustangs to their European customers. The brand has also revealed that the total sales of this sporty coupe have exceeded 3,500. Up until now, 80 per cent of buyers have opted for the fastback body style over the convertible and 68 per cent have specified their cars with the 416bhp, 5-litre V8 motor.
As for the gearbox, the 6-speed manual has proved to be the slightly more popular choice (54 per cent) over the 6-speed automatic, which comes with paddle shifters.
For the first time in its 50-year-old history, the Mustang was officially introduced across Europe last year. The European-spec models come with upgraded brakes, HID Xenon headlamps and 19-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Having displayed it at the 2016 Auto Expo, Ford India will soon launch the Mustang locally as their flagship offering. When launched, this iconic American muscle car will surely be a distinctive proposition among the stash of European sports cars.
