About Mercedes Benz A-Class Limousine
Summary
Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-new A-Class Limousine in India and it is available in three different variants. This is the 12th car and 2nd AMG model to be locally manufactured by the German luxury car maker as part of its effort to help the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The A-Class Limousine is offered with two petrol and one diesel engine which are paired with a seven-speed DCT and an eight-speed DCT, respectively.
The A-Class has a modern beige coloured cabin with a host of amenities. It gets two high-definition 10.25-inch screens like the other Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This car also has leather upholstery for seats, dual-zone climate control, USB-C ports, wireless charging pad and 64-colour ambient lighting etc. The front seats get electric assist with memory function, lumbar support and massage function. On the other hand, the AMG spec model gets a black-themed interior with AMG seats.
The A-Class is a compact executive segment car. Its design is similar to the all-new E-Class and S-Class. The face of the sedan comprises of a set of new generation adaptive LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights.
The AMG line A35 4MATIC model has the same design except for a reworked AMG-styled bumper, AMG alloy wheels, and multibeam LED headlamps. Besides that, there is a panoramic sunroof with a rain detection feature. The A35 4MATIC gets 18-inch AMG alloy wheels whereas the A200 and A22D come with 17-inch alloy wheels.
The A200 is powered by a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The A220d’s 2.0-litre diesel engine is paired with an eight-speed gearbox and lastly the A35 AMG’s 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that is coupled with a speed shift dual-clutch transmission. The A-Class competes against the Audi A3 saloon and the BMW 2 Series.
