Upcoming Jaguar I-Pace

Jaguar I-Pace
09 March 2021 Expected Launch
1.5 Lakhs - 2 Crores Expected Price

Jaguar Land Rover marque will introduce the I-Pace all-electric SUV in India by the second half of 2020 as a part of their electrification plans for India. The I-Pace is the oldest contender in the newly formed electric-crossover segment where it locks horns with newcomers like the Audi e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQC and the upcoming BMW iNEXT.

The I-Pace was first revealed as a concept in 2016 and Jaguar has built the production car almost exactly like the concept. It is an SUV but hunkered down to the ground with the muscular wheel arches and a raked windshield. The signature mesh grille with the feline headlamps and the snazzy cuts give the classic styling a futuristic appeal.

The drama continues inside as well, and the cockpit gets three screens. So there is a dual stack of screens for the infotainment system and the AC, seat and driving modes settings make up for the cascading centre console. The third screen plays the role of the instrument cluster displaying your driving styles, consumption and a whole bouquet of data along with the standard speed and trip computers. And for the fourth screen, there is an optional HUD display as well. As a Jaguar, and that too one that is the harbinger of the future, it will be laden with luxuries and performance as well.

Powering the I-Pace are two 150kW electric motors, one for each axle, and a combined power output of 394bhp of power and 696Nm of twisting force. The four-wheel drive I-Pace hurtles to 100kmph from standstill in just 4.8 seconds and also claims a range of 240 miles (450kmph) which is certainly Tesla Model X rivalling. The primary concern of battery life is taken care of by an eight-year 1,00,000kms warranty in case the battery performance dips below 70 per cent. The fast charger gets it up to 80 per cent charge in just 40 minutes while the regular charger will take about 10 hours.
