I recently sold my old Hyundai Santro to update with a new version

I recently sold my old Hyundai Santro to update with a new version. I would like to share my years of experience with this performance oriented model. The 5 speed manual transmission 1086cc petrol engine was capable of a brilliant fuel economy of 18 km per litre. This car provided a sturdy safety option with features like day and night inside rear view mirror, central locking system, energy absorbing collapsible steering column and dual side impact beams. There are various features on the exterior structure that increase driver's convenience. Some of them include clear headlamps and tail lamps, co-driver side Outside Rear View Mirror(ORVM) and rear spoiler. Hyundai Santro had a compact exterior structure, whereas, the same is not applicable for its interior. Abundantly spacious interior has enough room to fit five passengers comfortably. My favourite aspect used to be various subtle luxury equipment like rear seat double folding, air-conditioning with heater and audio system with CD and MP3 player paired with AUX and USB provision. For me, driving was especially easy owing to factors like trip-meter, low fuel warning lamp, power steering, internally adjustable ORVMs, power window and remote fuel lid opening. Moreover, the cabin had features like ash tray, front map lights, cup-holders and driver seat door pockets.

Thanks for providing me an opportunity to give opinion on Santro vs Estilo. I have owned a top model of Santro. A very honest car indeed & superb engineering ! u can drive it just like a bike in traffic or playing hockey, means very good & easy road handling, has hydraulic power steering which gives a feel of some load in yr hands unlike electric power sttrng in Estilo.ensures better safety. mileage may be 1 kmpl less that Estilo as mine was giving stable 15 kmpl. u should road test both cars with people at the rear seat & take some rough road ( preferably same for both cars) & feel which one is a less bumpy ride. ask yr family for the ride comfort after the ride is over - take a 10 km stretch. Hwever, Santro is more reliable, excllnt AC. Rajeev

Santro is much better than wagon R in terms of looks, robust engine and interior. Wagon R lacks in stability and leg room. If u will drive a high speed on highways u will find the car is deflacting and that is not the casse with santro. Wagon R is only 3+1 seater and rear leg room is worst and not comfortable at all.

I was pride owner of Santro. and I was using that car for nearly about 5 years. It is no doubt a maintenance free car provided proper service is done timely and maintained. Now I have exchanged the same for i10 which is also manufactured by hyundai. If I am not satisfied with the performance of the vehicle how will I choose a brand new i10 with extra cost.Hence my view is that Santro is a good car which can be purchased. Any car for that matter require a good maintenance record to have good life and smooth motoring. Regards, Venkateswaran

The Santro is a good car. I had a Santro and ran it for 6 years and was very satisfied with it until I changed it for a Mahindra Renault.Santro is an efficient car with very less maintenance cost if maintained in reference to regular service etc. at Companmy authorised dealerships. The average is 13 km for city running and 16 km on long distance provided you run at optimum speeds and not at breakneck speeds or too much of stop and start(in city conditions). All in all it should be a good buy. And, last but not the least, they have upgraded the car recently with improvements in the interiors.

As I own santro, feel it's a good car. Good engine, robust body, Good comfort, Getting mileage of 15.5 KMPL in City (may be my driving habits are too good). Although cost of spares is generally high for Hyandui vehicles. Overall it is a good vehicle.
