Upcoming Hyundai Alcazar

Hyundai Alcazar
April 2021 Expected Launch
15 - 18 Lakhs Expected Price

The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar is essentially an elongated version of the five-seat Creta. The extended rear indicates a third-row with adequate legroom and a two-type of seating layout for the second-row seats. It will also get its own distinct design and styling to make it stand out from its younger sibling. The Alcazar will step into the three-row SUV segment comprising of the Mahindra XUV500, Toyota Innova Crysta, MG Hector Plus, and the Tata Safari.

Based on the various sightings of the three-row SUV, it is likely to get a touchscreen infotainment system bigger than Creta’s 10.25-inch screen. It will most likely feature bench and captain type seats for the second row with the former one getting an armrest and cup holders. Other highlights to include are wireless charging, Isofix child seat anchorage points, dual-tone interiors, LED head and tail lights. The third-row seats could also get dedicated features such as aircon vents and charging slots.

Since Hyundai will debut the Alcazar globally in the coming months starting from India, we could expect the Alcazar on the Indian roads in April 2021.

The powertrain options are likely to be carried over from the Creta which include – a 138bhp/242Nm 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol unit with a seven-speed DCT unit, a 113bhp/250Nm 1.5-litre diesel motor with six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and a 113bhp/144Nm torque 15-litre NA petro engine with a six-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
