Upcoming Honda City New

Honda City New
December 2019 Expected Launch
9.7 - 14 Lakhs Expected Price

The new generation Honda City is in works and is slated to debut in late-2019. The fifth gen City will adopt new styling and features while it is expected to grow in size. Apart from that a hybrid powertrain for the City is also in works. Prices are expected to remain on par with the current model. The new City will continue to compete with the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Vento and the Hyundai Verna.

The new City will adopt the new Honda family design seen so prominently in the new-gen Civic. There will be LED headlights flanking the chrome nose bar protruding out of the fascia. The front bumper will also have larger air dams and aggressive lip spoiler. At the back, a new tail light design is expected to keep things fresh. Meanwhile, newly designed alloy wheels and added exterior colour options will round off the exterior updates. Dimension wise, the City is expected to grow owing to the revised platform.

On the inside, there will surely be new techs and features which will be trickled down from the more expensive models. We expect added space inside the cabin owing to the larger dimensions. Also part of the package will be added creature comforts and connected technologies.

The fifth-gen City will be powered by the same set of engine options as the current model. However, these powertrains will be updated to meet the newest emission norms. Also, Honda is working on a petrol-hybrid powertrain which will surely debut with the new City. This would be a mild hybrid system akin to Maruti’s Smart Hybrid but a full-fledged hybrid powertrain hasn’t been ruled out either. However, the latter will only be available in the international markets. Apart from that, a diesel-CVT from the Amaze is also on the cards.
