Detailed Ford EcoSport Review

What's Good?

This new urban SUV delivers outstanding fuel economy with EcoBoost, high levels of technology, including SYNC.Radical design and good mechanicals make this compact SUV worth all the hype that has been around. Very competitive pricing makes this more interesting than the competition.

What can improve?

Not as driver oriented as other Fords, the EcoSport isn't spacious either.

Overall Comments

Bringing forward Ford's new 'Kinetic' design philosophy, the Ford EcoSport SUV is a culmination of aerodynamic and contemporary looks, which gives it a class-apart appearance.

Ford EcoSport SUV features dual tone interiors in the form of black and grey which makes the cabin look sporty. The dashboard in particular, has been designed quite practically, making it user-friendly. The central console caters to a driver information system, music system, SYNC, climate control and a gear shift lever. The three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls for audio and SYNC, come really handy while driving. A pair of elliptical instrument dials along with digital fuel meter, bring out the sportiness from within. Overall, Ford EcoSport SUV offers a good built quality in reference to plastics, controls an fittings, thereby giving it a premium feel.

When it comes to ride quality, the EcoSport is no match for the Duster, the stiffer suspension setup being the culprit here. So, while the setup aids agility, the ride takes a beating over rough and broken roads. It does handle undulations well, though.

It looks generously proportioned on the road, standing next to, say, a Swift or any other big hatchback. It is, of course, longer and wider but substantially taller than a regular hatchback and it’s the high, commanding stance that helps peg the EcoSport as a compact crossover. Love to have it...
