Opening
In a surprising move from Ford, especially for customers eagerly waiting for the launch of the global Fiesta version, Ford has launched an updated Fiesta, dubbed the Fiesta Classic. The Fiesta Classic seems to be an intermittent model, before the global Fiesta enters India.
With the launch of the Ford Fiesta classic, earlier versions like the Fiesta TDCI are no longer available. At the same time, Ford has also announced discontinuation of the Ford Ikon, so that today the only cars available in the Ford stable are the Ford Figo, Ford Fiesta Classic, and Ford Endeavour. Below is a first introduction to the new Ford Fiesta Classic.
Appearance Exterior
The body shape and dimensions of the new Fiesta Classic remain the same as the present version, with wheelbase of 2486mm and ground clearance of 168mm. The boosting factor of the Fiesta Classic version is the usage of twin barrel crystal headlamps. Body colour rear view mirrors, door handles and clear lens tail lamps are a few features giving a good impression. The word Classic is inscribed under Fiesta badge, differentiating it from earlier versions.
Appearance Interior
There are a lot of improvements in the interiors of the Fiesta Classic compared to earlier versions, with the introduction of two tone colour coordinated interiors, new seat fabrics, metal central console, metallic inserts on trims, and 2DIN mp3 Player.
Other features like Anti-lock braking system with EBD, Dual airbags, entry locking and passive anti theft system, programmable keyless entry and auto re-locking are available in higher variants.
The Fiesta Classic has ample leg space for front seats and rear seats. Lumbar support is designed well to suit best of comfort. Liquid metal finish is available in interiors of LXI and CLXI variants and in SXI variant mahogany wood finish is available. Apart from this, 4 speakers are fitted in CLXI variant and 6 speakers in SXI variant. Driver seat height adjust and defogger options are available in CLXI and SXI variants.

The Ford Fiesta was always well known for a good and smooth performance. We took the Fiesta Classic petrol for a spin to see whether this has changed.
The New Fiesta Classic Petrol with its power output of 101PS ensures a fast pick up and smooth performance. The turning circle radius of 4.9 meters is a great advantage in city driving conditions making it easy to handle, even for a sedan. The Fiesta Classic’s suspension is great, and the drive is quite smooth. The Ground clearance of 168MM gives a good confidence in overcoming any type of bumps in city conditions.
What impresses much apart from the smooth suspension is the AC effectiveness and fine finished interiors.
All in all, the Fiesta gives a very good and comfortable ride, with easy accelerating, braking and handling.

Conclusion
The Ford Fiesta Classic seems to be an effort from Ford to ensure all stocks of the present version Fiesta are sold out before global version Fiesta is launched. They will surely ensure at least 4 to 6 months gap available for launch of new Fiesta. As far as the Fiesta Classic is concerned, there are clear improvements in interiors and list of features available with competitive pricing in the segment. Thus, for anyone considering the buy a Fiesta, the Fiesta Classic is surely a better deal.
