Toyota Fortuner has been dominating the premium SUV segment in the coutry ever since its launch in the Indian market. As a matter of fact, it sells almost 4-5 times more units than most of its competitors. So to counter this highly successful product, Renault brought the updated Renault Koleos with improved styling, more power and competitive pricing.

Here's our comparison between the two product to find out which one is better.

      Exterior and Interior Design

The rugged and masculine styling of the Toyota Fortuner has a raw appeal. On the other hand, the Renault Koleos’ crossover-inspired styling with new chromed grille and side protectors looks premium. Both the SUVs have a commanding road presence.

On the inside, the Koleos’s base variant (4x2) gets cruise control, push button start/stop, audio system with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity, rain sensing wipers, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), driver and passenger airbags and few more equipment. While the top-model (4x4) automatic variant offers a lot more features.

The Toyota Fortuner, too, comes loaded with plenty of comfort-enhancing and safety features that vary model-wise. The ABS comes as a standard equipment, while features like EBD, brake assist and vehicle stability control system are available only on the top-spec model. The cruise control is offered on the 2WD automatic trim only. Unlike the Koleos, the Fortuner’s base variant lacks rain sensing wipers, hill assists, extra airbags and few more features. That said, both the vehicles are equally comfortable and premium.

      Performance

The new Koleos is now available in three versions – 4x2 manual, 4x4 manual and 4x4 automatic. Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel, which is tuned for two power and torque states – 150PS and 320Nm (for 4x2 variant) and 173PS and 360Nm (for 4x4 version).
