The leading manufacturers around the world have been pushing automotive technology in new cars at a pace that’s seldom been seen before. However, they have come under a lot of flak for pushing tech for its own sake, thereby risking over-complicating their products. There’s no denying the claims either that over-tech has led to a serious level of disconnect with the driving experience.

It isn’t all bad as it seems though and there have been a lot many intuitive safety features in cars that have been making it better & easier for a wider spectrum of drivers. Here’s a quick run-down on some of the key observations on this important aspect of the driving experience.

Cornering lights were once thought as a luxury, but are a prime example of useful automotive technology in new cars today. Drivers no longer have to worry being caught out by that blind spot as they turn into a corner in fading light.

As smart-phone integration continues to rise, more and more manufacturers are putting a wealth of information about their cars in the hands of the owners. From maintenance alerts to displaying the various parameters of the car’s performance, it is all available a few clicks away.

Lastly, collision warning systems are one of the hottest pieces of automotive technology in new cars today. They work in tandem with the vehicle management system and a complex array of radar sensors. The car can monitor those in front and around you at all times. Thus, when the car ahead brakes, (gradually/suddenly), you don’t have to do a thing, for your car automatically increases braking, bringing you to a halt, safely.
