Green cars are more efficient, frugal and easy-to-run compared to the internal combustion-engined vehicles. It has a pack of 180-cell lithium ion battery, affixed in the transmission tunnel, beneath the rear seat and the boot floor.

SEAT Leon Twin Drive Ecomotove: The SEAT Leon Twin Drive Ecomotove is one of the lowest CO2 emitting plug-in hybrid cars from the Spanish carmaker. It is boosted with an electric battery pack with lithium ion batteries that offer better range and high acceleration. The driver can switch between gas and electric power, depending on its immediate use.

BMW i8: BMW i8 is India’s first hybrid supercar. It is powered with a 131bhp, plug-in hybrid system with 231bhp, 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. It is quick and fuel efficient, and claims to emit zero emission.

Nissan Leaf: The Nissan Leaf is a compact, five-door electric car. Powering the leaf is a 80kW AC synchronous motor and 48 laminated lithium ion battery models that produce 107bhp of power with 207lb-ft torque.
