One of the most successful sedans in India, the Honda City was recently awarded with a diesel mill that brought along several changes in appeal and approach of this car. Here are 10 important facts on the all new Honda City that one must know before overlooking it for some other option.

  1. Inception: The one that you are seeing right now is the fourth generation version of this legendary vehicle. It set its foot in market in year 1996 with its first generation model. The second generation came almost after half a decade in year 2002 and third was introduced in year2008. The fourth generation came in year 2014 when the new Honda City was rewarded with a diesel mill. This one also shared its platform with the Jazz.

  2. Mileage: The new Honda City is one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the country today. Its 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel equipped model is claimed to return an impressive 26km/l, which makes it the second most fuel-efficient car in its league.

  7. Transmission: The Japanese car maker has offered two transmission gearboxes with its car. The versions powered by oil burners, however, come only with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol powered trims have been offered with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

  8. Versions: Each power mill has been blessed with three trims – the E, the S, and the V. The base-end version is the E version that does not get all features and equipment. The other two come embellished with all lush features and gadgets that make them comfortable and compatible rides.

  9. Pricing Strategy: The new Honda City is much more equipped and spacious than the preceding versions. The Japanese car maker is expecting a 70:30 split between the two fuel types. The pricing is affordable and promise true value for the money spent.
