Tom Brady won the Chevrolet Colorado as his Super Bowl MVP prize. It was perceived to be a move from Chevrolet to create some buzz about the mid-sized pick-up truck, as it gave a huge marketing push to Colorado that resulted into high publicity and volumes for the marker. Previous year as well, General Motors gave Malcolm Smith a Silverado High Country pick up truck. In recent years, Porsche cars and Chevrolet cars have ruled the Super Bowl MVP awards. Though offering trucks as a prize has certainly helped GM to promote them in the best possible way, many believe that there are better cars to suit this prestigious award.

Going by the past awards, we believe that there are other cars that might have been a perfect choice.

Lexus ES 350 Sedan: We believe that Malcolm Butler would not complain about getting any vehicle for free, but he would surely enjoy a luxurious saloon. The Lexus ES 350 exemplifies the luxury sedan, which strikes the right chords when it comes to style and sophistication. Under the bonnet is a 3.5-litre engine that is good for 274bhp, paired to a six-speed electronically controlled transmission. It offers three driving modes- ECO, NORMAL and Sport.

Kia K900: It is one of the biggest, most expensive sedans the Korean automaker has offered in the American market. This luxurious sedan shares its architecture with the Hyundai Equus. The base model is propelled by a 3.8-litre V6 engine that is good for 311bhp, which is paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It also gets a powerful V8 engine that develops 420bhp, paired to an eight-speed automatic box.

Toyota 4Runner: The legendary mid-sized SUV has been the most preferred SUV for nearly three decades. The 4Runner has been the first choice for off-roading enthusiasts looking for an SUV with rugged, go-anywhere capability. It is powered by a 4.0-litre V6 engine, coupled to a five-speed ECT-i automatic gearbox, which is good for 270bhp. View more Toyota Cars

Porsche 911: Christiano Ronaldo is the proud owner of the luxurious Porsche 911. The iconic 911 is often associated with European football MVPs, thanks to its sleek and refined profile. Under the hood is a massive 6-cylinder engine that develops 560bhp helping it reach 100kmph from standstill in merely 3 seconds. We believe that the 911 would be a perfect gift to the future Super Bowl MVP. View more Porsche Cars

Chevrolet Silverado: We already mentioned that Chevrolet cars have ruled the Super Bowl MVP in recent times, and our list of most deserving cars for the prestigious awards have witnessed a couple of Chevy’s. The Silverado is great pick up for Malcolm Smith as a Super Bowl XLVIII. The pick-up is big, really big, as the front seats provide more than enough room to accommodate the biggest of MVPs and their football playing friends. What makes it more special is its 6.2-litre EcoTec3 V8 engine that churns out 420bhp of power and 460Nm of torque. View more Chevrolet Cars

BMW X5: The BMW X5 offers a perfect amalgamation of luxury, utility and style. It is a perfect car for the Super Bowl XLV MVP Aaron Rodgers. This SUV might not be the best car a Super Bowl MVP could drive, but it will be a right product for a MVP who wants a sensible and comfortable ride. It offers pretty fun to drive experience, thanks to its 4.4-litre 8-cylinder engine that produces massive 445bhp.  Power is transmitted to all 4-wheels, the X5 shoots to 100kmph from zero in less than 5 seconds. Ford Mustang: It is one of the most popular American sports cars ever developed. The Mustang is just 1 year older than the Super Bowl. We believe that Bart Starr would have enjoyed grabbing a '65 Mustang Fastback'. as much as Tom Brady would love to drive home a Mustang GT 50 Years Limited Edition. View more Ford Cars

Cadillac Escalade: Out of the last 12 Super Bowl MVPs five have received a Cadillac Escalade and it is one of the best awards available for an MVP. The Escalade is big, expensive and appealing, and has a large body to seat 8 adults and huge cargo space behind the rear seat. It can easily carry half a dozen Super Bowl after party.
