SUVs Used In Ajay Devgans Singham – Check Out!...

20 April 2015, 02:38 PM

No movie of Rohit Shetty is complete without having cars in it, whether motionless, in motion, or as a part of a mid-explosion or convoy. Given the significance of SUV cars in India to Shetty’s action-based cinematic world, it’s not quite surprising to known one of the most important brand tie-ups for his film Singham Returns was with Tata Motors. Started a fresh relationship with Hindi film industry, Tata Motors earlier announced before the release that Rohit Shetty's movie 'Singham Returns' starring Ajay Devgan in lead will feature a variety of Tata cars in India, including Safari Storme, Aria, Sumo, Sumo Grande and Xenon.

The previous film, Singham, had Mahindra Scorpio (Sports Utility Vehicle) as Ajay Devgan's car as the actor was playing a cop and the makers felt that Scorpio would suit the image of a police officer in best possible way. It must be noted that Mahindra cars in India are known for their muscular built and sturdy performance. However, Singham Returns had a big need for utility cars, for the reason that it had lots of convoy moments. In addition, the movie as well had a macho male connection, and which is why Tata cars in India were roped in. If reports are to be believed true then about 20 Tata cars were used in Singham Returns, however, none of them suffered the doom that happens with most of the vehicles in Rohit Shetty’s movies, which is to jump off from the road, flip over through the air and gets blow up, generally in slow motion.

Quite recognized for his passion for sports utility vehicle, filmmaker Rohit Shetty has used Mahindra Scorpio in some of his good number films. However, he preferred to go for the Safari Storme, as a replacement for the Scorpio in Singham's sequel. Actor Ajay Devgan, who enacts the role of a cop in the movie, is seen doing some hardcore action sequences together with his Tata's popular SUV to fight against the goons in the film. And thus, cars like Safari Storme, Aria, Sumo, Sumo Grande, Xenon, and so on from Tata Motors were seen in the movie.

Rohit Shetty quoted earlier by saying, "Ajay is playing Bajirao Singham again, and his macho image is enhanced by the Tata Safari Storme, his vehicle in the film. Other Tata Motors vehicles have been used in the film too." Also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead, ‘Singham Returns’ is produced by Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions and Ajay Devgan Films. The film was released worldwide in theaters on 15th of August, 2014.
