Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an automobile freak and this fact is known to all his followers and the media as well. Dhoni, who is the richest cricketer in the world, owns several models but his penchant for SUV cars is really infectious. Though the Chennai Super Kings captain loves his bikes and has many of them, his list of cars is quite amazing too. Like his good friend and Bollywood star John Abraham, with whom he shares the passion for automobiles and football, Dhoni owns an Audi Q7 car, which is one of the best SUVs in the market. His extended love for SUVs is shown by the fact that he has another one, an open Mahindra Scorpio, which he got modified according to his own preference. The Hummer H2 and Toyota Corolla are other models owned by Dhoni.

According to sources, Dhoni is a bit of an expert when it comes to automobiles, knowing everything from the make to the engine of cars and bikes. In fact some say that if you happen to talk to Dhoni about an Audi Q7 car or a Toyota Corolla, it seems as if some expert is talking. Dhoni, by far, has been India’s most influential cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar, who is also a huge automobile aficionado. SUV cars are loved by all celebrities, maybe due to their grand size, structure and conveying a sense of status that the person has, especially in a country like India. Dhoni, who lives in Ranchi, is seen more in his open Mahindra Scorpio rather than the Hummer H2, which is understandable given how much traffic disturbance it could cause if he rode the latter.

A lot of people wonder whether Dhoni actually gets to drive all these cars, including his open Mahindra Scorpio and Hummer H2, given that he is playing for most parts of the year. This is quite true because the Indian cricket team plays an awful lot of cricket nowadays and add to that the Indian Premier League (IPL), it leaves someone like Dhoni no time for driving his SUV cars. Rumour has it that Dhoni and his friends go on bike and car rides during the wee hours of the night when the roads are empty and no one would spot them though there is no guarantee as Ranchi is a small city and people go to any proportions to see their heroes at any time they can.
