IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO TELLING FOR CONDITION IN NET . BUT U GO WITH A MECHANICH AND RESPECT HIS ADVICE . FIRST SELECT BRAND OF BIKE LIKE SPLENDOR ,PASSION ,, PULSAR . SET UR MIND ON A FIX BRAND AND SEE THAT BRAND 5/10 BIKE AND U WILL FEEL WHICH IS BEST ..

general condition of any bike can be told by certain points and then can be decided whether it is worth buying or not .this can be done by any layman provided he is alert.
1.check the bike for dents and scratches 2.check the tyres and its condition 3.check the vehicle for smoke after starting the engine if blue smoke is there ,the engine is weak 4.unusual noise in the engine while idle running of engine like noise of crank or timing chain.5check the condition of chain and spoket, this can be done if u notice two adjustmentbolt on bothsides near the rear axle .and above all check the registration paper and compare the chasis number and engine number .if u can do all this you dont need anybodys advice.

If you stick to Hero Honda brand of vehicles, there is less of a risk. Besides you will get good network of service and spares. The HH PASSION and Splendor are your best bet.

Always keep a 50% budget extra with you to refurbish an old bike. For example, if you buy for 15K you should have 7.5K in hand to spend for making it tip top. This is the rule for second hand bikes.

Microman's idea of keeping an extra budget is a good idea but even i would suggest that u check the bike yourself instead of completely relying on a mechanic bcoz most of the mechanics have cut with a used bike dealer and if you blindly believe them they may fool you and get benefits from all the sides .1. they charge you for checking the bike 2.they get commission from the dealer for getting the bike sold 3.they charge you for repairs .if you are taking a mechanic with you make sure you do not rely on him 100%,he may give an assesement but youneed to use your brains too.

Hi Mr.Sourav,

What Ms.Pauli & Mr.Rajiv have explained is vry much right, as mechanics may cheat u if u are not alert in checking all the points explained by both, and surely papers are the most important part of used bikes, be sure and double check the papers and if possible check with RTO office for confirmation, (ie., Original RC, Insurance Policy & pollution certificate) and also check with insurance co., for any damage claim for accidents of the bike, vehicle histrory from the service centre. Good luck

Hi
The condition of bike can be judged by ease of starting, ride quality, tyre wearout etc. If you are new to bikes then take a friend with you for checking out the overall quality of bike. Besides check for original RC book and recheck the chassis number on frame to confirm.

1) check body 2)Tyre 3)Battery 4)Engine sound 5)Engine oil 6) Service records if it is available 7)Insurance papers & other documents 8)Still it is hypothycated io bank ? Its better to go Hero Honda or Honda bikes like othres advised. The most reliable bike is Unicorn in 150cc and Passion/splendour below that.
