I am going to buy Hundai Santro GL car. Its engine is 1.1L eRLX. How can I be sure that the engine is genuine? Are there way to check its (1) made year, (2) Euro type, (3) finally the engine is new (not used one). How one can trust that the car dealer that they are honest. If you fell that my above concerns are useless/unnecessary please mention that also. Regards.

Hi,
You can veryfy the same engine number pried of Engine with that of the number mentioned in RC book.For this you may need help from a mechanic.The number of Engine indicates the year of make and serial number.Compatibility of the Norms is also mentioned in RC book. Above all its always better to deal with reliable persons which can be gauged from experience.
